Pan-Orthodox Liturgical Service in the church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow
On the feast day of Saint Olga Equal-to-the-Apostles, the great Princess of Russia, primates and bishops of local Orthodox Churches celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow
On the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa, His Grace Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, His Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Illya II of All Georgia, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Holiness Bulgarian Patriarch Neofit, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, His Beatitude Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw and All Poland and His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy.
The primates were concelebrated by: Metropolitan Emanuel of France of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Venezuela of the Patriarchate of Antioch; Metropolitan Joseph of Western Europe of the Russian Orthodox Church; Metropolitan Procopius of Philippi, Neapolis and Thassos of the Greek Orthodox Church; Metropolitan John of Korchina of the Albanian Orthodox Church; Archbishop Rastislav of Preshov of the Orthodox Church of Czech Lands and Slovakia; members of the Holy Synod and the Holy Assembly of the Russian Orthodox Church; members of the delegations of local Orthodox Churches, as well as representatives of the Synodic departments, heads of monasteries and clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The Liturgy was attended by government officials of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, art director of the art factory “Sofrino” E.A. Parchaev, Apostolic Nuncio in Russia Archbishop Ivan Jurkovich and ambassadors of the Slav countries.
Choir of the church of Christ the Savior and the choir of the Sretensky Monastery sang responses.
After the Holy Liturgy, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia served a prayer of supplication for Holy Prince Vladimir the Equal-to-the-Apostles in memory of the Baptism of Rus. Then Patriarch Kirill read the Message of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church to hierarchs, clergy, monks and believers on the occasion of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.
On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation the high guests were greeted by envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for Central federal county A.D. Beglov.
On behalf of the primates and the delegations of the local Orthodox Churches His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa.
