On Monday 2nd November 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Eminence Narkissos Metropolitan of Noubea, arrived in Entebbe, Uganda via Nairobi, for a Pastoral Visit to the Holy Metropolis of Kampala.
His Beatitude was welcomed at the airport by His Eminence Jonas, Metropolitan of Kampala and All Uganda, His Eminence Ieronymos of Mwanza, His Grace Innocent Bishop of Burundi and Rwanda, His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt Mr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz Mostafa and many faithful, clergy and pupils of the missionary schools in Kampala.
Following the designated doxology at the Metropolitan Church of St Nicholas, the Patriarch was addressed by the local Metropolitan Jonas, and in his reply His Beatitude thanked everyone for the enthusiastic welcome, which is proof of the love and dedication that the local Church has for the Patriarchate and its Primate, as well as of the recognition of the contribution of the Orthodox Church to Uganda.
His Beatitude then did the trisagion at the tombs of the late Hierarchs Christoforos, Theodoros and all the workers at the Missions in the country and then met privately with the Hierarchs to discuss various pastoral issues of the Ugandan Mission as well as on the broader African Continent.
