The Patriarch and members of the Synod visited the Saint Sava Cathedral
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, visited the Saint Sava Cathedral in Vracar on 27 November 2017. He was accompanied by members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church: Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Bishops Justin of Zica, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Milutin of Valjevo
as well as by Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and General secretary of the Holy Synod protopresbyter-staurophor Savo B. Jovic, PhD.
The Hierarchs were welcomed by the dean of the Saint Sava Cathedral Archimandrite Stefan (Saric); director of the construction of the Cathedral a graduate engineer of architecture Zlatomir Ivanovic; secretary of the Committee for construction of the Cathedral lawyer Milan Andric; chief architect of the Cathedral deacon Miroslav Nikolic and the members of the Commission for interior decoration of the Saint Sava Cathedral: Professor Vladimir Mako, PhD; Professor Dragan Vojvodic, PhD; Milan Radujko, PhD; Professor Zvonko Petkovic and sculptor Nebojsa Savovic.
The reason for the visit of the Cathedral was a consultation on how to set up the iconostasis. On a white canvas that was put over a construction that represented the iconostasis, the members of the Committee showed on a projector a few suggestions for a future view of the iconostasis. In this way a real picture of the view and dimensions of the future iconastasis (height, width, position of the setting in relation to the altar apse) was got that the Holy Synod will discuss and make the final solution.
