Patriarch with children from the region at Saint Sava Cathedral church
On March 4th, 2022, at Saint Sava Cathedral, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, was socializing with children from the region visiting the Serbian capital.
"I am delighted that you came here to the Saint Sava Cathedral, which was built and was being built to be the temple of all Orthodox Serbs wherever they are. A temple that would be a place where we will all come and gather above all, with good intentions and good wishes, with a prayer for all people for the whole world, for peace everywhere in the world ", Patriarch Porfirije said among other things while blessing the children during the reception.
"Although children's world should be filled with joy, it is impossible that news about wars and sufferings everywhere in the world, including Ukraine, cannot reach them. And that is why we should always pray that God gives peace in that country, to open heart in everyone so to be filled with understanding and love for others, so let us pray that the war ends there as soon as possible," Patriarch Porfirije said.
During their stay in Serbia, children from the region will have the opportunity to get to know their history, language, and culture. The program organizers are MP Sanja Lakić and the Director of the Fund for Assisting Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons, and Cooperation with Serbs in the Region, Mr. Duško Ćutilo.
