Patriarch Irinej meets with academician Sergey Novikov

His Holiness Irinej Serbian Patriarch receieved today in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade academician Sergey Novikov, one of the greatest mathematician of today and the winner of the Fields Medal in 1970.

The academician Novikov is the member of following Academies of Sciences: Russian, Serbian, Papal, Italian, European and the National Academy of the USA. The founder of the greatest scientific school within which works both the group and the seminar Mathematical methods of mechanics of the Mathematical institute of the SASA. The professor works at Universities of Lomonosov and Meryland and the honorary doctor of the University of Athens and Tel Aviv. He is the winner of Wolfs Award in 2005.
