Patriarch Irinej of Serbia talked with Dimitris Moshopoulos
Today at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia received in an official visit Mr. Dimitris Moshopoulos, the special representative of the EU for for the issues of religious and cultural heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohia. The meeting was attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Bachka, member of the Holy Synod, and Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan.
In a friendly conversation, Mr. Dimitris Moshopoulos informed His Holiness Patriarch and Bishops on first steps that had been made regarding the safety and preservation of the Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija. Holy Patriarch, in turn, informed Mr. Moshopoulos that the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church appointed Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan to be rthe epresentative of the Serbian Orthodox Church in all discussions concerning the religious and cultural heritage of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija and its immediate partner in all ventures of the preservation and the protection of the Serbian Orthodox holy shrines and the Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
His Holiness expressed his satisfaction and joy for the appointment of Mr. Moshopoulos and p gave his patriarch's blessing for the success of his mission in Kosovo and Metohija.
