On Sunday, November 13, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served with the priests and deacons of the brotherhood of the Cathedral church in Belgrade, the Divine Liturgy in a newly-built church devoted to St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming.

This church is located in New Belgrade, near the building of the Government of Serbia and a modern centre under construction, and which will be a hothouse of spiritual culture and art.

His Holiness was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor namesnik Dr Vladimir Vukasinovic, protopresbyter-staurophor Radic Radicevic, head of this church, protopresbyter-staurophor Petar Lukic, the head of the Cathedral church, protodeacon Radomir Percevic, presbyter Slavisa Popovic, presbyter Milos Markovic, second parish priest of the church, presbyter Igor Lukic, presbyter Arsenije Arsenijevic, head of the Ascension church, deacon Srecko Bogicevic, archpriest Jovan Planojevic.

A great donation was done by Miodrag Mija Petrovic, presenting five golden crosses which dominate this church.

For these noble deeds they all received letters of thanks from Patriarch Irinej.

The church of St. Simeon the Myrrh-Streaming blends harmoniously into the modern architecture of New Belgrade, especially very close bank of the Danube and the park.
