Patriarch Irinej serves the rite of thanksgiving at Saint Daniel Monastery
Immediately after his arrival to Moscow, the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej visited the Patriarchal and Synodal residence at the Saint Daniel Monastery. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia cordially welcomed the high Serbian church delegation.
Afterwards Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the rite of thanksgiving at the church of Church of All Saints Who Shone forth in the Land of Russia during which Patriarch Kirill of Moscow was praying in the sacristy. The rite of thanksgiving was performed in attendance of the Director of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (DECR) Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Metropolitan Pavel of Ryazan and Michailov, Chairman of the Administrative Secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate Bishop Sergius of Solnechnogorsk, dean of the Representation of the Serbian Patriarchate in Moscow Bishop Antonije of Moravica, Secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia for the City of Moscow archpriest Vladimir Divakov, Deputy Director of the DECR archpriest Nikolay Balashov, Secretary of the DECR for inter-Orthodox relations archpriest Igor Jakimchuk, Assistant Director of the DECR protodeacon Vladimir Nazarkin as well as ambassador of Serbia to Moscow Mr. Slavenko Terzic.
His Holiness Kirill delivered a welcome speech, and the Serbian Patriarch responded expressing his great joy to have a chance to see and venerate Russian holy shrines and to take part in some celebrations, among which, the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russ.
After doxology the heads of two Churches had talks in the solemn hall of the Patriarchal residence.
