Patriarch Theodoros II - guest of the Constantine’s City on the feast-day of the Exaltation of the Precious Cross
On the feast-day of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa and His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Arsenije Bishop of Nis celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Sts. Emperor Constantine and Helen.
Addressing lots of the faithful, His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros II, talking about the feast day and the city in which he wass, he emphasized that the Cross has always been and forever he will remain a symbol of love. – Under this Cross my children: Serbians, Greeks and African people fought for freedom, and hence it will remain a symbol of victory, Patriarch Theodoros said and with special words thanked the Serbian Patriarch, Bishop Arsenije and the people of Nis for the warm welcome.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was attended by Their Eminences Metropolitans Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Georgios of Guinea and Niphont of Pelousion, Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa, Justin of Zica and Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla; as well as Very Venerable Archimandrite Daniel, Secretary of the Synod of the Church of Alexandria.
His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros concluded his visit to the Diocese of Nis with the visit to Cele Kula and the Theological Seminary of Sts. Cyril and Methodius.
