Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem payed a visit to Belgrade
His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine visited the Serbian capital on the Sunday of the 25th of September 2016, following the consecration of the church of Saint John Vladimir in Bar, Montenegro.
His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III was welcomed at the Saint Sava Cathedral by the clergy of this Cathedral headed by Dean protopresbyter-staurophor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic and in the presence of a multitude of believers. After the solemn doxology, His Beatitude was greeted on behalf of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej by the principal of the church, His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica.
His Beatitude responeded and emphasized that the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Serbian local Church had been connected with strong links, among which the most significant had been the personality of the first hierarch of the Serbian Church – Saint Sava.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch accompanied His Beatitude Teophilos during his visit to the Saint Sava Cathedral. Thereafter a dinner was prepared for the dear and distinguished guest in the Saint Sava parish premises. The dinner was attended, next to the delegation of Patriarch Teophilos of Jerusalem, by a representative of the Polish Orthodox Church, Archbishop Abel of Lublin-Chełm as well.
