Patron Saint-day of the chuch of Saint George in Budapest
On Saint Thomas Sunday, 9 May 2021, the Patron Saint-day of Saint George the Greatmartyr and Victory-Bearer was celebrated in Budapest.
His Grace Bishop Lukijan of Buda and Administrator of Timisoara celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of protonamesnik Radovan Djordjevic (priest of the Diocese of Zica), priest Ljuba Milisavic and Zoran Zivic, hieromonk Varnava Knezevic and deacon Stefan Milisavic.
With the blessing of His Grace, the Church Municipality of Budapest awarded special thanks to the members of the church choir Lenka Kiprijanovic and Sofija Cvetkovic for their special contribution to the development of choral singing in Budapest.
At the end of the Holy Liturgy, a procession followed around the church, through Serbian Street in the Hungarian capital, and then Bishop Lukijan blessed the slava gifts at the gate in honor of the Holy Great Martyr George, the patron saint of the parish and all Serbs in Budapest.
On behalf of the parish, archpriest Zoran Ostojic and archpriest Nikola Pocuca thanked His Grace for the visit made on the occasion of the church slava. A music program and service for the present believers were prepared in the courtyard of the church.
