Patron Saint-day of the church in Peroj – St. Spiridon of Trimituna

Orthodox residents of the Istrian town Peroj solemnly celebrated the Patron Saint-day of their church – Saint Spiridon the Miracle Worker, Bishop of Trimituna on 25 December 2018.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by Bishops Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja and Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, with the concelebration of Archimandrite Naum and local clergy.

After the Liturgy Bishop Heruvim blessed the slava loaf and wheat with participation of clergy and the faithful. Bishop Heruvim delivered a sermon on the Gospel reading and the life of Saint Spiridon.

Bishop Gerasim thanked the bishops for visiting the church of Saint Spiridon in Peroj, which celebrates 230 years of existence. He also cordially greeted Mrs. Divna Anicic, mayor of the Municipality of Mrkonjic Grad, Republic of Srpska.

After the Liturgical gathering, an exhibition dedicated to publications of the Mountain Wreath by Metropolitan Petar Petrovic Njegos was presented.
