Patron Saint-day of Kosovska Mitrovica
In Kosovoska Mitrovica the feast day of Saint Demetrius, the Patron Saint-day (slava) of the city was solemnly celebrated
Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Holy Great Martyr Demetrius with the concelebration of the clergy of the Episcopal Deaneries of Mitrovica and Raska. At the end of the Liturgy Bishop Teodosije awarded Bogoljub Cvejic, stonecutter from Mitrovica, with the Order of Saint King Milutin for construction and architecture on the territory of the Diocese, and Petar Rakic with the Order of Saint Sava of the Second Degree for the organization and conducting a choir in the church of Mitrovica. The Bishop then, along with the clergy and the faithful, went in the slava procession through the streets of the city.
The celebration was attended by Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija in the Government of Serbia Minister Aleksandar Vulin with associates and Krstimir Pantic, candidate of the Serbian List for a mayor of the city of Mitrovica.
