Patron Saint's Day of the Circle of the Serbian sisters " Mother of Jugovic"in Blacktown
The circle of the Serbian sisters "Mother of Jugovic" from Blacktown, modestly but solemnly was celebrated St. Petka, its patroness and protector.
The Holy Liturgy was served in an usual time and mostly sisters were present who also partook the Holy Communion. Since this time the feast day of St. Petka was on the workin day, a rite of cutting the slava cake was done in the evening, and it followed the vigil service. The vigil was served by protopresbyter-staurophor Nikola Bilic and parish deacon Nemanja Mrdjenovic.
After the service and cutting the slava cake for all the present a table of love was prepared by the Blacktown sisters. Father Nenad welcomed the all who came and who also helped this year's celebration. He also gave a speech on the life and celebration of St. Petka.
