Patron Saint's Day of St. Archangels Monastery in Prizren
In St. Archangels monastery near Prizren on July 26 2011 the Patron Saint's Day of the monastery was solemnly celebrated. The Holy Liturgy was served by Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren with the concelebration of priests and monks of the Diocese, as well as with a participation of about two hundred believers from many parts of Kosovo and Metohija, central Serbia and Montenegro. Bishop spoke especially about St. Archangel Gabriel who brought the good news to the Most Holy Theotokos, informing her about the birth of Christ the Saviour.
Bishop then spoke about the monastery of St. Archangels, which used to be famous laura raised by Emperor Dusan and which was one of the most significant spiritual centers of Old Serbia. After Sinan Pasa's demolition of the church in 1615, this holy place was again ressurected, suffering once more devastation in March 2004.
After the Holy Liturgy, Bishop Teodosije blessed and cut the slava cake with athe heugomen of the monastery protosyngellos Michael.
