Patron Saint's Day of of Visoki Decani Monastery

Patron Saint's Day of of Visoki Decani Monastery today was formally celebrated with the Holy Liturgy served by Bishop Atanasije, administrator of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija with the concelebration of Vicar Bishop Teodosije and seven priests. More than two hundred believers from various parts of Kosovo and Metohija and Cental Serbia participated in the Holy Liturgyда. At the celebration also were present monks from Sopocani and Tvrdos, nuns of the Koncul monastery with heugomene Minodora as well as sisters from Grachanica.

In the meantime 300 pilgrims came from various parts of Kosovo and Metohija. Bishop Atanasije held a sermon about the significance of the feast day of the Ascension of Christ.

After the consecration of the slava cake and the procession Bishop Teodosije, heugomene of Decani monastery, with the brotherhood prepared a slava lunch for all the participants. Mr. Dimitris Moshopoulos, head of the Greek office and the special representative of the EU for for the issues of religious and cultural heritage, with his associates also attended the celebration.

After the slava celebration in Visoki Decani Bishops Atanasije and Teodosije went to a village of Zac in order to visit returnees who were gun attacked by Albanian extremists.
