Prayer of Patriarch Porfirije for Bishop Milutin
Patriarch Porfirije served the memorial service to Bishop Milutin, the first hierarch of the restored Diocese of Valjevo, considering it has been a year since his earthly demise.
Everyone who is a part of the spiritual life of Valjevo remembers with joy the Saint Sava Academy, where in the summer of the Lord 2014, a sermon was delivered in honor of Saint Sava by Bishop Porfirije, then Bishop of Jegar and vicar of Bishop Irinej of Backa. Shortly afterwards, Bishop Porfirije was elected Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana. With the blessing of Bishop Milutin of Valjevo of blessed repose, he comes to Valjevo again and at the academy, as part of the 35th anniversary of the presentation of the Venerable Father Justin, speaks about the newly canonized saint of the Serbian Church, whose works are an inspiration to generations of church pastors throughout the Orthodox universe.
Archimandrite Jovan Radosavljevic also belongs to the spiritual greats of the Valjevo region, since when, on April 10, 2021, the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church said goodbye in the Lelic monastery. Patriarch Porfirije concluded his stay in Valjevo with a visit to the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, where he served the memorial service to Bishop Milutin, the first bishop of the renewed Valjevo diocese, considering it has been a year since his earthly demise. Visiting the cathedral church in the city on the banks of the Kolubara, the Patriarch praised its beauty and the work that Bishop Milutin invested in its construction.Ј. Ј.
