Praying for the Bahamas!

Hurricane Dorian has passed, and survivors are picking up the pieces. IOCC’s US team deployed, assessed the needs in the Carolinas, cleaned up four homes, and are returning the Emergency Response Vehicle to Houston to be ready to deploy when and where needed as we monitor developing tropical storms.

IOCC staff have deployed to the Bahamas as of this week. Our team is working closely with Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and coordinating with international and local organizations to assess how we can best support the Church’s response in the short and long term. The Church is very engaged, reaching out and responding to those affected by the storm. However, the situation in the Bahamas remains fluid as people continue to evacuate the affected islands.

IOCC is very grateful to National Philoptochos for their generous gift of $25,000 to support our response in addition to the numerous other individual gifts we have received.

Please continue to pray for everyone in the Bahamas. The trauma and devastation of the storm have impacted many lives.
