The President of Republika Srpska visited Jasenovac
The President of Republika Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, visited the Jasenovac Monastery and on that occasion talked with His Eminence the Bishop of Slavonia, Mr. John.
Accompanied by the host, Bishop Jovan, and in the presence of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, Mr. Aleksandar Vranjes, President of the Serbian National Council Mr. Milorad Pupovac and Member of the Croatian Parliament Dragana Jeckov, the President visited the winter church of the Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac, the Cathedral of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, the site of the Serbian school in Jasenovac, during which she was acquainted in detail with the history of the school and the renovation project.
In the continuation of the visit, Ms. Cvijanovic visited the Croatian Ustasha hospital, the only remaining facility from the time of the Jasenovac camp, and then laid a wreath at the Stone Flower in the Jasenovac Memorial Area.
The President of Republika Srpska previously visited the earthquake-stricken Banija, ie Petrinja and Glina. During her visit to the village of Majska Poljana near Glina, President Cvijanovic said that solidarity and assistance to endangered families will not be lacking in the forthcoming period.
