Prime Minister Vucic received by Patriarch Irinej

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received the President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic at the Serbian Patriarchate yesterday, on January 20th, 2015.

Prime Minister Vucic informed the Patriarch on his last week’s visit to Kosovo and Metochia, emphasizing that the position of Serbia was not easy, but Serbia should act responsibly, wisely and unanimously „This is an approach we need to take in solving all of our country’s problems, the Prime minister said, adding that the dialogue with the Serbian Orthodox Church plays an important role in this approach.

The Prime Minister thanked Patriarch Irinej on his continuous activity concerning the unity of the Serbian people, and asked for his understanding regarding the difficulties which the country had been facing.

The Patriarch commended the efforts of the Serbian Government to help the revival of the country, and expressed a wish that the Church and state officials should meet more often.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice Mr. Nikola Selakovic as well as by Their Graces Bishops Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Arsenije of Toplica.
