Proclamation of Archimandrite Heruvim for Bishop of Osek Polje and Baranja
In the Cathedral church in Dalj, Croatia, 9 June 2018, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch performed the solemn rite of proclamation of Bishop Electus of Osek Polje and Baranja, Archimandrite Heruvim, abbot of the monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Daljska Planina.
The First Hierarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa – Administrator of the Diocese of Osek Polje and Baranja; Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Nikodim of Dalmatia and Archimandrite Heruvim, Bishop Electus of Osek Polje and Baranja. Their Eminences Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and archimandrites, Bishop Electus Dimitrije of Zachum-Herzegovina and Stefan of Remesiana attended prayerfully.
Before the gathering of our Holy Church, Archimandrite Heruvim accepted the will and the decision of the Holy Assembly of Bishops, who on this year’s regular session on 9 May elected the Bishop of the Diocese of Osek Polje and Baranja.
After that act, the proclaimed Bishop officiated the Vesper service with the concelebration of two deacons, while members of the priest’s choir of the Diocese of Osek-Polje and Baranja sang responses.
