Religious school textbooks for visually impaired children
In cooperation with the Religious Education Committee of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the JU Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired of the Republika Srpska has issued audio textbooks for religious instructions for primary schools.
The textbooks, made in digital technics in mp3 format, are intended for the primary school children of impaired vision - blind and partially sighted children.
Eight books, from grades two through nine, trace the biblical history of the Old Testament, the time before Christ's birth, the life of Christ, the New Testament statutes, holy sacraments, and other topics that aim to bring Christianity, the Orthodox faith, and the Church closer to the youngest through educational stories and history.
The audio textbooks, recorded in the sound studio of the Special Library, completely follow the printed editions that were issued with the blessing of Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, chairman of the Religious Education Committee of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Texts from the textbook were read by Zana Vukosavljevic, whereas librarians Dragana Bozic and Jelena Radakovic provided the sound. On the website of the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla, one can listen to two excerpts from audio textbooks of Orthodox Religious Education for primary school.
