Remembrance Day on Victims of the “Storm” Military Action Marked

The state manifestation dedicated to marking the Remembrance Day of the killed and expelled Serbs in the Croatian military-police action “Storm” in August 1995, when 2000 Serbs were killed and more than 200.000 expelled, was held at Veternik near Novi Sad, Serbia,  on 4 August 2017.

Serbian Patriarch Irinej served the memorial service in the presence of President of Serbia AleksandarVucic, President of Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic,  Diocesan Bishop Irinej of Backa, Government ministers as well as by expelled Serbs, members of the families of the murdered in the “Storm” and of some 30.000 citizens.

On the occasion of The Remembrance Day of the killed and expelled Serbs in the military action “Storm” in Croatia in 1995, in all churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church the memorial service for these victims was held on July 5th, 2017, beginning at 11 am. The same day bells of all churches and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church rang at 12 am.
