Renewed Spiritual Life at the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God - Shadeland
With the archpastoral blessings of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, the spiritual life of the monastery at Shadeland has been renewed.
His Grace appointed Hieromonk Nektarije, parish priest in Lorain, as administrator of the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God. By this decision, the spiritual life of this monastery, the oldest monastery of our Diocese, has been renewed.
On Friday, August 27, 2021, on the eve of the monastery's patronal feast day, the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, Hieromonk Nektarije together with Deacon Milan Damljanović, served the festal vigil in the monastery church. Angelic responses were rendered by the faithful present from Cleveland and Lorain.
On this occasion, Father Nektarije greeted those present and announced the decision of Bishop Irinej regarding the reestablishment of liturgical order in the monastery, which filled the hearts of those present with joy. After the festal vigil, Sister Anastasia from New Marcha Monastery in Richfield, Ohio, prepared a repast for those present.
May the blessings of the Mother of God and Her Son, our Savior, be with all of us!
Praise be to God for everything!
