Renowned Orthodox Theologian and Philosopher to Visit the Western American Diocese

Renowned Orthodox theologian, professor, and philosopher Dr. Christos Yannaras of Athens, Greece, will arrive in New York on September 12th and will travel throughtout the Western American Diocese, Sept. 16-24, 2010

Professor Christos YannarasDr. Yannaras, author of more than 30 books and Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, "has been for several decades one of the most prolific, original, and contemporary Orthodox writers in Greece... [and] perhaps one of the most significant Christian philosophers in Europe," according to Dr. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury.

While traveling throughout the West Coast, Dr. Yannaras will be meeting with our clergy and will present the following lectures: BAY AREA - "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9), SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - "The boundaries of the Church and why a schism in Christianity?" and LOS ANGELES - "Can the Church survive in an individualistic culture?"
