On this occasion Zanieri informed His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije and His Grace Bishop Filaret on the principles of his mandate as the UNMIK Head and efforts of the mission to solve actual problems in the renewal of sanctities in Kosovo and Metohija. He emphasized a greater engagement of the mission of the Security Council in an improvement of conditions of the work of UNMIK in the protection and the renewal of the sanctities of the SOC in Kosovo and Metohija, which is the subject of the last six items suggested by Serbia and accepted by the Secutity Council ofthe UN.
Metropolitan Amfilohije pointed out that the proclaimed independence of Kosovo is not just a cause of permanent danger for the sanctities in Kosovo and Metohija, but also the essential threat to the security and destabilization of the Balkans for a long time in future.
It is emphasized that the Serbian Church mostly showed good will to cooperation with international institutions in protection and renewal of destroyed and ruined sanctities if the cooperation is carried out under the UN SC Resolution 1244.
He particularly emphasized that positions of the Serbian Church and its actions in protection of sanctities and people in Kosovo and Metohija are in accordance with activities of the Serbian state bodies in the same field. The Church believes that the six-item plan on Kosovo and Metohija must be entirely implemented so as to protect Serbian sanctities and the remaining Serbs and to help the exiled to return to their homes
