Restoration of frescoes in Prizren

On the church of St. George in Prizren, experts from Greece has started the conservation and the restoration of the frescoes from 15th century. Soon the works on Theotokos of Ljeviska are going to be started. The sancturies was heavily damages in the attack of the Albanian extremists in 2004.

The experts from the Byzanthological institute in Thessaloniki began with the works on the conservation and the restoration of the damaged frescoes in the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. George in Prizren, built in 15th century, it was said to  Beta news agency.

The works are being done by Yorgos Konstatinidis and Ritsa Trayanopoulu, and all, accordin to priest Sava Janjic, is within the project of the restoration which is being done on the basis of the Memorandum of the renewal of the Serbian Orthodox  heritage.
