Restoration of the Cathedral church of Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Sarajevo

Within the project of the renewal, reconstruction and restoration of the Cathedral church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Sarajevo, after two and a half monthsthe construction, electrical works and works  on an introduction of underfloor heating in this church.

The head of the Cathedral church presbyter Borislav Livopoljac said that in this period had been performed works by removing the stone flooring and ceramic, and excavation, and laying pipes for floor heating and wiring for sound, lighting, alarm and video surveillance, and\ concrete plaster had been poured.

In order to finish a part of the restoration of the church one should put marble panels, which is planned for the next year.

He emphasized that was expected from the City of Sarajevo to get a bigger material and every other support regarding candidacy for the European Capital of Culture in 2013.

He said restoration of the cathedral as a symbol of Serbian cultural heritage is of great importance not only for the Serbs in Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, and this part of BiH, but also for all citizens of Sarajevo,  the city itself and BiH,, because it is a valuable cultural and historical monument.
