Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine enjoyed an evening of Massachusetts history and fellowship for the 2017 Fundraiser supporting cancer care needs in Serbia on Saturday, 22 April 2017.

The Royal couple, joined this year’s festivities along with more than 60 guests from the New England region, including Serbian families, and medical staff from Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Boston, Shriners Children Hospitals of Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital.

This was the second annual Lifeline event in greater Boston and it featured the beautiful spring grounds of Gore Place located in Waltham, Massachusetts. Gore Place and its 50 acre site is on the National Historic Register and dates back to 1776 as the ancestral home of the Gore Family, one of the Bay Colony’s major political families. Attendees enjoyed Mansion tours first before embarking to the 1793 Carriage House for the Special Benefit Cocktail Reception. The event was dedicated to supporting women’s and pediatric cancer care needs in Serbia.

Honored guests included Dr. Leslie Lehmann from the Boston Global Pediatric Oncology Initiative affiliated with Dana Farber; and Dr. Branko Bojovic, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Shriners Children Hospitals of Boston.  Both doctors gave brief presentations briefly outlining the medical work and partnerships that each has with Serbia.

The Silver Sponsor for the evening was Dana Farber Cancer Institute and other special Contributors were Zivorad and Maija Tomic; Jovan and Sabrina Boskovic and Nada and David Sizemore. We thank these sponsors and all other invited guests for their gracious financial support for Lifeline and for the evening events.

Their Royal Highnesses thanked the Committee spearheading this event: Co Chair Nada Kosanovich Sizemore; Co Chair Sylvia Bajic Bartel, Co Chair Mirjana Bovan Ojdrovic; Dr. Branko Bojovic; Dr. Sabrina Craigo Boskovic; Dr. Jovan Boskovic; Dr. Liljana Grkovic; Dr. Leslie Lehmann and Spiritual Advisor the Very Rev. Father Aleksandar Vlajkovic, Dean of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Boston located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The following day, on Sunday, 23 April 2017, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, together with Crown Princess Katherine’s sister Ms. Betty Roumeliotis, visited St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral where they enjoyed the Divine Liturgy.

Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by Very Rev. Father Aleksandar Vlajkovic, and after the liturgy, the Royal family enjoyed a beautiful luncheon prepared by St. Petka Circle of Serbian Sisters. As this luncheon had a humanitarian character, all donations collected will be given to Lifeline organization for its humanitarian efforts for Serbia
