Ruling bishop of the Diocese of Philippines and Vietnam of the Russian Orthodox Church meets with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines

On 23 February 2020, Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi met with Teodoro Locsin, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.

At the meeting held in Manila, capital of the Philippines, Mr. Locsin conveyed greetings to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and expressed his gratitude for missionary activity of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in the Philippines, including Mindanao.

He said that during his planned visit to Russia he would life to attend the Divine liturgy and added that one can understand the Russian soul only through the Orthodox faith and its inseparable part, the divine service.

Minister Locsin expressed willingness to support projects of the ROC Diocese of the Philippines and Vietnam and assist a meeting of Metropolitan Pavel with the H.E. Rodrigo Duterte, President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Taking part in the meeting was H.E. Igor Khovayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Philippines.
