In recent days, during the state of emergency and a pandemic of the coronavirus, the Serbian Orthodox Church in Ruma, Syrmium, and its Charitable Foundation  Sandra B. Premrou organized activities to help those who need it most.

Since in the new situation the greatest burden is being borne by our doctors, nurses and all our brothers and sisters employed in health care institutions, the following aid was provided to the Health Center in Ruma: protective masks, disposable protective coats, disposable try-on shoes, disposable protective caps, disinfectant dry hand washing, goggles with side protection.

The aforementioned assistance was delivered on April 2, 2020 to support new strength and subsequent acts of love for our beloved ones. In addition to providing assistance to the Health Center, the Church in Ruma, in cooperation with the Circle of Serbian Sisters, social welfare institutions, humanitarian organizations and members of the Orthodox community in Ruma, provides support and assistance to the population in isolation.

Assistance to the elderly is reflected in the following activities: procurement of medicines, raising and delivering retirement fees, procurement and delivery of groceries, coordination with the clergy for communion of the elderly in their homes, calling for talks and spiritual support, making and sharing protective masks, after Liturgies delivering antidoron to the faithful people who are in isolation.

In the coming days, packages of assistance are being prepared for the population who are poor and for other people who are in need of assistance.
