Saint Basil the Great celebrated in the village of Marsic
Diocese of Sumadia: Free day care for children and youth with disabilities and professional support to their parents
On Sunday, 14 January 2018, when the Church celebrates the Circumcision of the Lord, Saint Basil the Great and the New Year, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Basil the Great in Marsic with the concelebration of local priests.
After the Gospel reading, Archpriest-Stavrophor Zoran Krstic congratulated to the faitrhful the church slava and the New Year. He exposed the significance of the feast-day of the Circumcision of the Lord and talked about one of the greatest Church Fathers, Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea of Cappadocia, who is the patron saint of the church in Marsic. Father Krstic also presented the activities of the Association for helping children and youth with disabilities. The Association has been engaged in providing free day care for children and youth with disabilities and providing support to parents thanks to the engagement of the Team for aid and support for parents of children with disabilities that consists of priests and a psychologist.
After the blessing the slava cake, during a dinner at the parish house in Marsic the film was shown about the Day care for children and youth with disabilities which operates five days a week at the Parish house and about the activities of the Association for helping children and youth with disabilities Saint Basil the Great.
