The St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania celebrated the parish Slava on Sunday May 3 with the Divine Liturgy,Festal Procession, and Blessing of the Slava Kolac' and Koljivo. Living and departed members of the parish were remembered in prayer.

The St. George Choir under the direction of Sonia Janson sang the responses. The Slava dinner and program were held in the church hall. Stan Brozik, Executive Board President was the Master of Ceremonies. Sonia Janson spoke as Choir and Kolo President. Executive Board members participating included John and Felicia Williamson and Andrea Janson. A number of parishioners read from the writings of St. Bishop Nikolai of Serbia.

Protopresbyter Milan Medakovic from Holy Ascension Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood, Pennsylvania offered additional words of spiritual nourishment. The St.George Church and the Holy Ascension Church in Youngwood share a close relationship as the St. George parish was first served by a priest from Youngwood during the early formative period.
