Saint Sava, the common slava of all the Serbs, was celebrated prayerfully, solemnly and majestically in the capital of Austria. The children’s programme with recitals and gifts was appropriated on Saturday, 26 January, at churches of the Most Holy Mother of God and the Resurrection of Christ after the Achatist to Saint Sava was served.

On the feast day of Saint Sava, 27 January, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in all three  churches of Vienna, and in the oldest church, dedicated to the first Serbian Archbishop, the church slava was marked. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by father Aleksandar Lapin, priest of the Czech Orthodox Church and Orthodox priest in the Austrian army; archpriest Petar Pantic, Episcopal dean of Austria, and other local priests in the presence of the faithful.

The traditional Saint Sava Academy, co-organized by Diocese of Austria-Switzerland and the Serbian Orthodox church-school congregation of Saint Sava in Vienna, was held at the theatre “Akzent” in the afternoon.

Many eminent guests attended the Saint Sava Academy: Mr. Milovan Bozinovic, ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Austria; Mrs. Tanja Milasinovic-Martinovic, Ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Austria; Mr. Mihajlo Vujovic, military attaché of BiH; Mr. Srdjan Mijalkovic, President of Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta and others.
