Saint Vitus Day celebrated solemnly in Krusevac
On the Eve of Saint Vitus Day, when church Lazarica celebrates its founder and protector Saint Great martyr Prince Lazar, the solemn Vigil service was celebrated, after which the slava cake was cut on the occasion of the slava of the choir of Holy Prince Lazar. The Vigil service, which was celebrated by Bishop David of Krusevac with the clergy of the Diocese of Krusevac, was attended by lots of faithful people and clergy of the city of Krusevac.
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the Holy Divine Liturgy with the concelebration of Bishop David of Krusevac.
The Holy Liturgy was attended also by His Royal Highness Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic with Princess Katherine, Director of BIA Mr. Bratislav Gasic and Deputy Mayor of Krusevac Mrs. Vesna Lazarevic. Following the Holy Liturgy the memorial service to all martyrs died for faith and fatherland since the Battle of Kosovo until today was served and on this occasion His Holiness addressed the people.
After the Liturgy there was a procession until the central town square – the monument to Kosovo heroes. Following the return to Lazarica church, Serbian Patriarch consecrated the newly built statue of Holy Princess Milica not far from the Lazarica church.
