The Second Pan-Balcan Assemble of the Orthodox youth starts in Budva
The two-day second Pan-Balkan Assembly of Orthodox youth began with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the monastery of Podmaine in Budva on the occasion of the feast day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, which was served by His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishop Artemije of Grodnyensky and Volkovisky of the Russian Church and David of Stobi from the Ohrid Archbishopric, and many priests and monks, with prayerful attendance of many faithful people.
The gathering was attended by representatives of local Orthodox Churches and parliaments of Orthodox countries.
The organizers and hosts of this meeting is the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Diocese of Zahumlje-Herzegovina with the patronage of the International fund of unity of Orthodox people from Moscow.
After the Holy service the assembly began with the work with a welcome speech of the participants. Metropolitan Amfilohije was the first one to addressed the guests, and His Grace Bishop Joanikije spone on behalf of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church and conveyed the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch.
The participants were addressed by the president of the Fund of the Unity of Orthodox people Mr. Valeri Alekseyev, the counsellor of the president of the Republic of Montenegro Dr Sonja Tomovic-Sundic, mayor of Budva Mr. Lazar Radjenovic, father Alexy on behalf of Czech Archvbishop Christofer and His Beatitude Bishop David of Stobi.
The first session of the assembly was on the theme "Responsible personality".
