Metropolitan Amfilohije pays canonical visit to the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America

His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, as Bishop-Administrator of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America arrived to Buenos Aires on 24 November 2014.

The clergy of the Diocese, representatives of the Administration of the parish in Buenos Aires with the president of the church-school congregation and protodeacon Nikola Radisa as well as a few parishioners welcomed His Eminence int the Cathedral church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. Bishop John of Caracas and South America of the Russian Orthodox Church in Exile was among those who welcomed His Eminence.

VERY REVEREND DJURO MAJERLE retired priest of St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, Beloved husband of Jelena (nee Zakula). Dear father of Pavle(Marija) and Jovan (Angela). Grandfather of Djuro, Pavle, Aleksija, Gojko, and Ljubica. Uncle of Dusko (Mira), Milena (Sveto), Ljilja (Brane) and Gordana(IMilan dec). Great uncle to many nieces, nephews and Kumovi.

Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be officiated by His Grace Bishop Mitrofan and His Grace Bishop Longin on Saturday November 29, 2014 at 9 am at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 2151 W. Wallings Road followed by funeral service at 11 am.

V.Rev.Djuro Majerle will lie in state at church on Friday November 28, from 2-8 pm. POMEN service 7.30 pm. Interment, St. Sava Cemetery. Arrangements by Donald A. Faulhaber Funeral Home.

Eastern Diocese KSS Federation meets in Carmichaels

His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrophan participated in the recent meeting of the Eastern Diocese KSS Federation held at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania on November 22, 2014.

KSS Federation Officers include: Millie Radovick-President; DeeDee Baskot-Vice President; Martha Springborn-Vice President and Secretary and Barbara Topich-Treasurer. The Federation is composed of member Kolos from throughout the Diocese.

Audience at the Serbian Patriarchate - 26 November 2014

New Director of the Russian House in Belgrade Mrs. Nadezhda Viktorovna Kushenykova visited today Serbian Patriarch Irinej regarding the commencement of her mandate in this institution.

The meeting was attended also by protopresbyter-stavrophor Vitaly Tarasyev, the head of the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade. Mrs. Kushenykova informed His Holiness about plans and program of the Russian House in the forthcoming period and asked His Holiness for the blessing for their realization, for which she hopes will be one more bridge between our two close and spiritually related peoples.

Metropolitan Porfirije met with the President of the Government of Croatia

On Tuesday, 25 November 2014, His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana paid an official visit to President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Zoran Milanovic.

During cordial talks, which were held at the palace of the Government in Zagreb, Prime Minister Milanovic congratulated His Eminence Porfirije on his election as Metropolitan of Zagreb-Ljubljana and wished him successful administration of the Diocese which had been entrusted to him, for the benefit of all the members of the Serbian Orthodox community.
