Serbian Patriarch celebrates his Patronal feast
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, served on the Saturday, Lazarus’ Saturday, the Holy Divinel Liturgy in Belgrade’s Cathedral Church. Today’s feast is also the slava (patron saint’s day) of Serbian Patriarch Irinej.
His Holiness was concelebrated by his Vicar Bishop Jovan of Ulpiana and many priests.
The liturgical celebration was attended by many guests, among whom there were Minister of Justice Mr. Nikola Selakovic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities Dr. Mileta Radojevic, protomaster of the Saint Sava Cathedral Professor Dr. Vojislav Milovanovic, Ambassador of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Cusev, representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation…
After the Holy Liturgy, at the Serbian Patriarchate, in the presence of the host, Serbian Patriarch Irinej and many guests, Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac blessed the slava cake wishing His Holiness good health and spiritual strength while heading the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The celebration of the slava was also attended by Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, President of the Republic of Srpska Mr.Milorad Dodik, Minister of Construction and Urbanism Mr. Velimir Ilic, Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Ivan Mrkic, Bishop Irinej of Backa, Bishop Porfirije of Jegar and Bishop Andrej of Remesiana and other eminent guests.
