Serbian Patriarch in the Diocese of Middle Europe
His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irenaeus arrived in the Monastery of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Himmelsthür on September 5th.
On the day Patriarch Irenaeus, the so-far administrator of the Diocese of Middle Europe, held few working meetings with the diocesan dean and hierarchal deans. The Patriarch also visited the monastery complex and supervised in detail the undergoing construction works within the monastery and the Diocesan Centre, which had begun with his blessing in the beginning of the year.
The next day, on September 6th, the Holy Liturgy was officiated at the monastery church. Patriarch Irenaeus attended the Liturgy officiated by Protopresbyter-stavrophor Djordje Trajkovic.
In the afternoon, the newly elected Bishop Sergius of Middle Europe arrived to the Diocesan Centre, welcomed by the clergy of the Diocese of Middle Europe and the faithful people.
The Vesper service was served at 6 p.m. His Holiness Patriarch Irenaeus attended the Vesper at the monastery church. The service was attended also by Their Graces Bishops Lucian of Budim, Bishop Chrysostomos of Zvornik-Tuzla, Bishop Athanasius of Bihac-Petrovac, Bishop Theodosius of Raska-Prizren and Bishop Anthony of Moravica. Archimandrite Seraphim Kusic, abbot of the monastery of Rmanj; Archimandrite Basil Rozic, abbot of the monastery of Klisine; protosyncellos Barnabas Damjanovic, abbot of the monastery of Treskavac, and deacon Vladimir Rumenic celebrated the Vesper service.
