Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrives in Sarajevo

HIs Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch arrived yesterday in Sarajevo, in a archipastoral visit to the Metropolitanate of Dabrobosna.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, at the courtyard of the Sarajevo's church of the Nativity of Most Holy Theotokos, was welcomed by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolaj of Dabrobosna, His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla, His Grace Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa, His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje, His Grace Bishop Sava of Slavonija, His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, a deputy of Metropolitan of Dabrobosna, with priesthood and many believers.

At the church doxology was served by archimandrite Danilo (Pavlovic) and deacons Mitar Tanasic and Vladislav Kovac. His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina as the deputy of Metropolitan of Dabrobosna held a welcoming speech in which said that once when the Serbian Patriarch came to Sarajevo its streets were full of Orthodox people.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch during the visit to Metropolitanate of Dabrobosna, will participate in the work of the International Peace Conference entitled "Our future Is to Live Together - Religions and Cultures in Dialogue", organized by the the Community of Sant'Egidio from Italy, which is held in Sarajevo from September 9-11.
