On Tuesday, 3 December 2013 His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the administrator of the Diocese of Middle Europe, visited the Serbian community in Berlin.

In early morning hours Serbian Patriarch went to Berlin by train. His Holiness was accompanied by episcopal dean protopresbyter-stavrophor Milan Pejic, protodeacon Damjan Bozic and the officer of the Diocesan office Mr. Carol Lupu.

About 45 years ago, by the decision of the Patriarch German the Church-school congregation was founded in Berlin. In 1969 Bishop Lavrentije served the first Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on the premises of the Evangelical church. Today Serbs in Berlin has two liturgical places. The church of Saint Sava with two parishes and the church of the Resurrection of Christ with one parish.

Serbian Patriarch was welcomed by many priests and believers in the church of Saint Sava in Ruppiner street.

After the solemn welcome at the church of Saint Sava the doxology was served. Head of the church father Veljko Gacic and protodeacon Damjan Bozic served.

At the parish house the lunch was served. Besides Serbian Patriarch the guests were: Minister Assistant of the Republic of Serbia in Berlin Mr. Miodrag Masic, lieutenant colonel Aleksandar Cera, envoy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia in Berlin; lieutenant colonel Sasa Stojijkovic, deputy envoy of the Ministry of  Defense of the Republic of Serbia, as well as Minister Assistant of the Embassy of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Berlin.
