Serbian Patriarch Irinej in Soko Grad
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch arrived in the monastery of Soko Grad on Saturday afternoon, 18 May 2013. In the church of Saint Nicholas a doxology was celebrated, and at 6 pm a vigil service was held with the participation of priests and monks of Ljubovija town. Following the service, the concert was held on the occasion of the great celebration of 20 years of the monastery of Soko, foundation of Bishop Lavrentije.
On Sunday, 19 May His Holiness Irinej celebrated the Divine Liturgy while Their Graces Bishop Longin of New Gracanica-Midwestern America and Antony concelebrated to the Patriarch with participation of clergy of dioceses of Sabac, Valjevo, Srem and Zvornik-Tuzla as well as of thousands of believers.
Patriarch Irinej delivered an address marking the 20th anniversary of the Soko monastery, indicating, among other things, that youth from Diaspora and people from all over the world gather. Patriarch received a beautiful painting, whereas he handed in awards to some individuals and companies which had helped the Soko monastery.
