Serbian Patriarch Irinej warmly welcomed by faithful people in Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, Piva and Zica monastery
Staying in a canonical visit to the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was warmly welcomed on July 30, on the feast day of St. Margaret of Antioch by faithful people in Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, on Zabljak and in Piva.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on the feast day of St. Margaret of Antioch in the Cathedral church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Bijelo Polje was served by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic with the concelebration of many monks and priests of the regencies of Berane-Andrijevica and Bijelopolje. A great number of the faithful came to the Liturgy and the Patriarch was welcomed to our Diocese, Bijelo Polje and the ancient church, the foundation of Prince Miroslav of Hum, by competent Bishop Joanikije.
Accompanied by Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic and many priests, the Patriarch was welcomed with love and warmth welcomed in Mojkovac, where in front of the church of Ressurection of Christ was welcomed by many believers.
After the visit to Zabljak His Holiness Patriarch Irinej visited a monastery of Piva in the evening, where more than hundred believers gathered.
The visit to the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic Patriarch Irinej concluded with a visit to the monastery of St. Luke in Zupa of Niksic, where was warmly welcomed by lots of people.
