“Serbian Patriarch Pavle” Center opened in Brcko

The Cultural and Administrative Center “Serbian Patriarch Pavle” was solemnly consecrated and opened.

His Grace Vicar Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, envoy of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch, Bishops Fotije of Tuzla and Heruvim of Osek-Polje, President of the Republic of Srpska Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, ministers in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, and other cultural,  religious and political dignitaries attended the event along with the faithful people.

The Cultural and Administrative Center Serbian Patriarch Pavle should contribute to spiritual and cultural ediucation of the Serbian people of Brcko and surroundings.

The former Government of the Republic Srpska invested financial means into the final works of the Centre - around 500.000 KM, which helped the construction to be completed.

For their unselfish contribution to the construction of the Centre, Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla awarded the President of the Presidency of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Milorad Dodik with the order of Saint King Dragutin – Venerable Teoktist as well as the President of the Republic of Srpska Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic and Mayor of the District Mr. Sinisa Milic.

The solemn academy was opened by academician Matija Beckovic. The opening of the Center and the solemn academy was attended by Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska Mrs. NatalijaTrivic, Minister of Energetics and Mining Mr. Petar Djokic, representatives of the authorities of the District of Brcko, representatives of the Islamic Community as well as the Catholic Church in the District. The organizer of the event is the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla, the Church Community of Brcko.
