The Serbian Patriarch received a high delegation from the Russian National Guard

His Holiness Irinej received in  audience  a delegation of the National Guard of the Russian Federation headed by Lieutenant General Sergei Melikov, accompanied by Commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie Colonel Goran Dragović, in the Serbian Patriarchate Palace in Belgrade on June 5, 2018.

Lieutenant Colonel Melikov thanked His Holiness for a cordial reception during which a discussion was held on the joint efforts of state and religious institutions while fighting against all the forms of threats to security in Serbia, Russia and the world.

The Serbian Patriarch Irinej thanked General Colonel Melikov for his visit and his efforts to develop joint projects between the Russian and Serbian police, and for the fostering fruitful cooperation between them for the benefit of all the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation.

The reception was attended by some officers of the Russian National Guard, Colonel of the Serbian Police Vladimir Ilic and the Police Director Dejan Stojadinovic.
