Serbian Patriarch receives Ambassador of Armenia
His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Ashot Hovakiman, the non-residential Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Serbia in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 2 April 2021.
Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in a cordial conversation with Ambassador Hovakimian, he spoke about the importance of centuries-old Serbian-Armenian friendship, emphasizing that there is deep compassion between Serbs and Armenians because the history of both nations is written through crusades.
During the meeting, the Patriarch informed the esteemed Ambassador to pray to God for peace among the peoples of the South Caucasus.
Congratulating Serbian Patriarch on his enthronement, Ambassador of Armenia emphasized that he extremely appreciates the understanding and respect of Patriarch Porfirije for the Armenians and for the Armenian Apostolic Church, which is currently surviving a very difficult period.
The reception was attended by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Predrag Tomic, and the Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch, Deacon Dr. Aleksandar Prascevic.
