Serbian Patriarch visited Diocese of Timok
On the radiant Feast of Resurrection of Christ, April 20th, 2014, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej visited the Diocese of Timok (Eastern Serbia). In front of the church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Zajecar a solemn welcome was organized: Patriarch Irinej was welcomed by Bishop Justin of Timok with clergy, monks and the faithful people.
Patriarch Irinej thanked the Bishop for the welcome speech. Then a reception was held in honor of the Patriarch and his entourage at the Diocesan Centre in Zajecar.
As a part of the visit, Serbian Patriarch along with Bishop Justin visited the town of Negotin with its Cathedral church and, later on, the monastery of Bukovo, where he was greeted by its abbot, archimandrite Hilarion.
On the next day, on Easter Monday, Patriarch Irinej consecrated new frescoes in the church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God at Dusanovac near Negotin. His Holiness officiated the Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Bishop Justin of Timok, as well as of monks and clergy of the Diocese of Timok.
