On Sunday, November 20, 2011 the church slava was solemnly celebrated of the parish of St. Archangel Michael in Sidney's suburb of Homebush, which is the only anglophone parish of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand.

The parish of St. Michael the Archangel, just to remind, last year was transferred from a jurisdiction of the American Orthodox Church (AOC) to the jurisdiction of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Local parish priest is High Reverend protopresbyter-staurophor Jovan Vesic, and the parish, as well as the AOC, originates from the Russian Church, so it is not surprising that most of parishioners are of the Russian origin, but along with many Serbs, Greeks and Arabs who all have also the English language in common besides the Orthodoxy.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Irinej with the concelebration of local priests.
