Saint Petka-Paraskeva Serbian Orthodox Parish, California, in San Marcos celebrated its Slava on Sunday, October 27. His Grace Bishop Maxim of Western America solemnly officiated at the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Fr. Milan Vukovic. After Bishop's sermon, followed the consecration of the gifts and many shared in the Eucharistic celebration.

Following the procession, immediately upon reentering the church, the bread and wheat were blessed -Slava kolach- with His Grace greeting our kum, parish council officers and all the children who had gathered. His Grace gave his archpastoral blessings and antidoron to all the faithful. A banquet followed the services where several families of the parish lovingly prepared and served a delicious meal of grilled lamb and vegetables, salad, and a variety of cakes. The Kum for this year Slava was Sasha Terzic with his family.
