Jubilees in honor of Venerable Father Justin: 125 years sincehis  birth and 40 years since his repose, were celebrated by consecration of a three-altar church dedicated to Saint Sava, Saint Justin the Martyr and Saint Mary the Egyptian, erected according to a testament of Abba in Monastery of Celije, where he had served to God for three decades.

The rite of consecration and the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by Their Eminences and Graces hierarchs: Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Marko of Berlin and Germany (Russian Church Abroad), Irinej of Backa, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, David of Krusevac, Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Baranja, Isihije of Mohacs, retired Bishop Jovan of Nis, retired Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the host, Diocesan Bishop Milutin of Valjevo.

On the feast day of Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia marked the fifth anniversary of the enthronement into the throne of Bishops of Pakrac-Slavonia by serving the Holy Liturgy in the monastery of Jasenovac. 

Consecration of a Three-Altar church in the Celije Monastery

In honor of the eight centuries of autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary since the birth and 40 years since the repose of Venerable Justin of Celije,  consecration of a Three-Altar church of Saint Sava, Holy Martyr Justin Philosopher and Venerable Mary the Egyptian – the Testament church of Venerable Justin of Celije - will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at the monastery of Celije near Valjevo, Serbia.

St. Justin, known simply as Avva, left a will for his disciples to publish his works, but that income should be belong to the St. John Chrysostom Fund with the aim of erecting a three-altar church in the Monastery of Celije in honor of St. Sava (central altar), St. Martyr Justin Philosopher (southern altar) and Reverend Mary the Egyptian (Northern Altar).

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Siluan, and under auspices of the Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand, one more successful celebration of significant jubilees of the Serbian Church took place last weekend.

After the celebration in Sidney, the deanery of Melbourne held a solemn academy in the church hall of the church of Saint Sava in Greensborough on 14 September 2019. The celebration was attended by Their Graces Bishops Siluan of Australia and New Zealand, Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, George of Canberra of the Russian Orthodox Church in Abroad, abbot of the monastery of Chilandar Archimandrite Metodije as well as by monks and priests of the Melbourn’s deanery.

Eight hundred years of the autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church and seventy years since the establishment of the organized church life on the territory of the Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand where celebrated conciliarly in the most solemn and pan-Orthodox way in the chapel of the College of Saint Sava in Varoville, Sidney on 7 September 2019.

Bishop Siluan of Australia and New Zealand officiated with the concelebration of Bishop Jacob of Miletoupolis (Ecumenical Patriarchate), Metropolitan Basil (Patriarchate of Antioch), Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, father Peter – representative of the Bishop Michael (Romanian Patriarchate), the most distinguished guest from Imperial laura of the Monastery of Chilandar Archimandrite Metodije and clergy of the Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand.
